Andi Chen

is a creative technologist,
designer, and
storyteller.

I build playful interfaces, spatial stories, and collaborative tools that invite people to explore ideas together. Most of my work lives at the intersection of design systems, narrative worldbuilding, and experimental technology.

When partnering with studios and teams, I help translate fuzzy concepts into tangible prototypes—crafting the scaffolding, motion, and tone that make digital experiences feel alive. I’m currently open to residencies, co-creation sessions, and limited freelance engagements.

If you’d like to collaborate, write to me at hi@andichen.com or schedule a call via Cal.com.

I’ve led cross-disciplinary projects across cultural institutions, startups, and in-house innovation labs. Highlights include prototyping immersive exhibits with musicians, shipping internal tools for research teams, and mentoring early-stage founders on narrative design.

Outside of client work, I run small learning circles where we study ritual design, electronic music, and community publishing. I’m fascinated by the ways tools shape collective memory and how play helps us practice futures that don’t exist yet.

Other interests: field recording, slow typography, long-form conversations, and biking along waterfronts.
